Stuntman and actor Danny Sands was born on May 21, 1914 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Sands began his career performing stunts and playing small parts in Westerns in the early 1940's after meeting directorHoward Hawksat a racetrack where he worked breaking in horses. Among the people he doubled in movies areLloyd Nolan,James Cagney,Barbara Stanwyck,Ingrid Bergman,Dane Clark,Montgomery Clift, andHenry Morgan. Moreover, Danny enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after the infamous attack on Pearl Harbor and was in the service for five years (he saw combat in the South Pacific). His career as a stuntman and actor spanned several decades. Sands died at age 83 on January 15, 1998 in Toluca Lake, California.
