Frank McGrath

Born: 1903 Passed: 1967

(Died from a heart attack) “Western Union”(1941), “The Ox Bow Incident”(1943), “She Wore A Yellow Ribbon”(1949), “The Tin Star”(1957), “The War Wagon”(1967).A member of the John Ford Stock Company who worked on She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), They Were Expendable (1945), Wagon Master (1950) and others. In the eight months previous to the filming of The Searchers (1956), McGrath had been in a body cast due to a broken back. Immediately upon reporting to Ford, he performed three separate horsefall and drag stunts. An excellent horseman, he also was in Riders of the Purple Sage (1941), The Ox-bow Incident (1943) and War Wagon (1967). Later, along with buddies Ward Bond and Terry Wilson, McGrath played cook Charlie Wooster on Wagon Train for eight seasons (1957-1965). Frank McGrath is buried at Forest Lawn, Glendale Ca Court of Freedom, Columbarium of Heavenly Peace. The front says McGrath Frank 1903-1967 “Wooster”
